Our Story...The Proposal
A year and half ago, we were living in San Antonio and James decided to visit his family in Pennsylvania over my birthday weekend. I remained alone in San Antonio and little did I know, I was in for the surprise of my life!
Here's how it happened: I woke up on Aug. 24th and got a call from James' mother. She tells me to go into the closet and get my bday gift. I wasn't sure what to think, so I follow her instructions and I opened up a letter. The letter had burnt edges and it was a TREASURE HUNT (themed from the movie, National Treasure)! My first clue took me to Bath and Body Works where I had to tell a manager who I was. James had made a nice basket of my favorite lotions/shampoos. Attached to the gift basket was the next clue. It was a picture of us and it said that I didn't have much time to waste. He led me to a local spa for a spa pedicure appointment (he had the appt all arranged...very impressive). After the pedicure was over, the next clue only had directions to somewhere downtown San Antonio. I've never driven downtown and had no idea where he was leading me.
The directions led me to the Spanish mansion on the riverwalk. This made me think, OK, does he want me to get away by myself and stay here alone? There was a card at the front desk saying that my treasure hunt isn't over and it had a room key in it. I went up to the room and it was decked out with rose petals ALL OVER the place, candles, wine, cheese, and flowers...it was just so beautiful! He also had more presents on the bed for me, but James was no where to be found. I started talking to myself and saying, James?? James?? Where are you? I then got a text and it said, Closet. I opened up the closet doors and there he was :)
He flew home from Pennsylvania to surprise me for my bday and to propose, it was just so wonderful!!! He had planned everything so perfectly and he timed it precisely.
And that's the story and now we're so excited to get married. :)
