When we tell you that Deposit a Gift can be used for anything, we mean anything! As you’ve read in recent blog posts, many of our users have been using DAG for fundraising. We love it! It’s nice to see that the platform is as flexible as we’d envisioned and that it’s helping people do good in the world in ways we never imagined.
Which leads me to introduce you to our next fundraising superstars, Charles and his adorable kids Sho, age 10 and Saya, age 4. Their story is so fantastic that we plan to make this a series on the blog, both to introduce you to their adventure, but also to follow them throughout the Summer as they live out this incredible project.
So what is the project you might ask? Sho and Saya are planning to circumnavigate Iceland by bicycle with their dad, Charles. Yes, Iceland.  They will carry a tent and all of their gear on the bikes, and have mapped out a route of around 1,200 miles. The trip will take them about six weeks to complete and they are excited about the challenge! You can read more about their story at: www.icelandbikeadventure.com.
There are so many layers to why this project is incredible, not least of which is a family spending time together and children showing the amazing things they are capable of. But what we also love is that they are taking this opportunity to raise awareness of a cause that really matters them: helping the environment. They will use their bike ride to both raise awareness and funds for the United Nations’ Billion Tree Campaign. You can read all about it on their DAG site, and also get involved if you’re so inspired.
So how did this project even come to be? You’ll have to tune-in next week for my in-depth interview with Charles!
