Deposit a Gift collects personal information necessary to respond to your requests for our products and services and to allow you to use the resources available on our website, including the creation and maintenance of a personal event registry website. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, name, physical address, email address, phone number and any other information that itself identifies or, when tied to the above information, may identify you as a specific individual.
Deposit a Gift also collects information related to your event, including event dates, name and address of registrants, as well as information relating to your gift registry. Deposit a Gift also uses forms for users to request specific information and purchase from the website. On such forms, we collect information such as: contact information, financial information (including credit card numbers) and demographic information. Specifically, during the checkout process, when a gift-giver is purchasing a gift from a Deposit a Gift registry, they will need to provide their name, address and credit card information in order for us to process the transaction. Similarly, when a Deposit a Gift user is going through the Cash-Out process to request their gift money, they will need to provide personal information depending on the method of Cash-Out they select: for a wire transfer, the user will need to provide Bank Account information that corresponds to the user listed as 'Registrant 1'; for a check that will be mailed, we will use the address for 'Registrant 1' that was provided during the registry set-up process.
NOTE: All financial/sensitive information is encrypted on our site through the use of SSL technology. We do not store credit card data, bank account details or any other personal financial data (such as bank account information if provided for a wire transfer) for future use. Users will be required to re-enter this information, when prompted, for each transaction.
Cookies - When you visit www.depositagift.com, we send one or more cookies - a small file containing a string of characters - to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service by storing user preferences and tracking user trends, such as how people search. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers' personally identifiable information.

When you opt-in to receive these non-administrative emails (our newsletter or promotional offers from our partners), we will only share your email with the email service provider as necessary for the third party to provide that service. All of these third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for promotional purposes.
Deposit a Gift also uses the information on visitors' usage of the site to improve its overall usefulness. We use a third-party tracking service that uses tracking technologies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate (e.g. usage and volume statistics) to track the effectiveness of our site and tailor the user experience to your needs.

If you use the blog, registry guest book, fundraiser message board or testimonial submission features on this site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums. If you want to remove your personal information that is being displayed on our website under public pages, please contact us at support@depositagift.com. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why. To post to our blog, you must provide your email. To submit a testimonial, you must be a Deposit a Gift user and by submitting, you are agreeing that we can publish it if we so choose.

By clicking-thru from an affiliate partner and signing-up with Deposit a Gift you are only agreeing to the Terms of Service of Deposit a Gift. You are not agreeing to any other terms or opting-in to any email communications beyond what you see on our sign-up and registry set-up pages. All of our affiliate partners are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for promotional purposes.
Deposit a Gift also values the opinions and comments from all of our users, so we sometimes conduct surveys online, via e-mail, or by telephone. Your participation in these surveys is entirely optional. Information we collect in online surveys will include general information on the use of our site and other demographic information, such as age and income bracket. Survey participants are anonymous unless otherwise stated in the survey.
