As we start our lives together, we’re thankful for all of you who have inspired us and supported our commitment. With Carrie just returning from Peace Corps service and readjusting to life in the US, we're asking simply for things that will help ease that process. For the traditional registry, we're asking for contributions toward the purchase of these items once we get settled into our new place, this cuts down on moving expenses. Of course, if you chose to pick one out and buy it we would still be eternally grateful.
About our Honeymoon:
TJ and I have had the wonderful privilege of travel both together and separate. In our time abroad, we've grown close to certain people and places and want to take this opportunity to introduce each other to the places we call home overseas.
First, we will travel to Jordan, where Carrie served a short, but meaningful time, in Peace Corps. We will visit my best Jordanian friend, Tamara, and my host family and friends. In addition, we will head to Petra and Aquaba - two destinations I never got the chance to visit due to the evacuation. In Petra, we will stay with a traditional Bedowin tribe and learn to cook Kubaz and Sharak the traditional way.
After Jordan, we will head to the Republic of Georgia to meet with the folks that TJ calls his Georgian family. High in the Georgian Caucauses in a region called Svaneti, this village was TJ's home for a year after he finished school.
We're so happy to be starting out lives together and to be bringing our two crazy families together. But, we really feel like we won't be complete until we've gotten to know "all the family" including our adopted ones overseas.
