The only note we would give to those considering their wedding gifts is that we would honestly be happy if everyone gave 100% of their gift money to the charities we've included. No, really. We have everything we need and pretty much everything we want, but we are both personally involved with the organizations we listed (I work for CHANGE, Inc.) and are aware of all of their specific needs. I can honestly say that nothing would make me happier than being able to walk into the executive director's office at CHANGE and hand him a big check, knowing how much our small nonprofit needs the help. Knowing people who would personally benefit from our gift makes us all the more eager to give. We tried to include lots of options so that our guests could find something they resonated with in terms of what they hope for in our life together, but the thing we most hope for is that we can use this event to benefit those we care about.
One note about the "education" section: Noah and I are both considering going back for more schooling, and any money you contribute in that section will go towards making sure we are financially secure when we go back to school. We will post an update here if we choose a school in the near future.
We've split up the "big stuff" (honeymoon, BSO subscriptions, anything over $50 really) so that people can contribute in a small way to giving us something that may be more expensive. For instance, a subscription to the BSO is $300, but we've split it up into $50 increments to keep it from being financially prohibitive for someone to give it to us. Feel free to mix and match as you like!
