From Spaghetti Junction using I-285 North or I-20 to I-85 North: From I-285 and I-85, Chota Falls is approx 92 miles north from this point.
Take I-85 North to I-985 North (just North of Lawrenceville/Suwanee exit). I-985 will take you through Gainesville, Clarkesville, Tallulah Falls, and into Clayton. On the way I-985 will also become 23, then 441.
From Tallulah Falls mark your odometer and count 8 miles (or one mile beyond the high school) you will cross the Stekoa Creek bridge. Immediately on the other side of this bridge turn right onto Rickman Airfield Road. Please drive slowly and stay to the right as this road forks and narrows. It is common to meet large farm vehicles coming from the opposite direction. Chota Falls is 1.7 miles down on Rickman Airfield Road.
Note:Exactly 1.3 miles down, the road curves sharply to the right over a single-lane concrete bridge and continues left once on the other side where the road becomes gravel. Continue along this short scenic drive of split rail fence, pastureland and a covered bridge before coming to a tall hemlock hedge on your right. Ahead on the left are parking signs, park and proceed back over the road to the Villa Campania (reception facility) where you will be greeted before the ceremony.
Landmarks to be aware of as you get close to Chota Falls are Tallulah Falls (Gorge), then a few miles ahead is Rabun County High School on the right. Be aware of the speed limit change near The Gorge. Just before you reach Chota Falls, you will see a tourist attraction on the left that is bright yellow and called Goats on the Roof. Once you see this on the left, Chota Falls will be a few yards further on the right.
